“Tuaca is a larger-than-life artist — big voice, big presence and big talent!”
— Gary Catona, Voice Builder and author of A Revolution in Singing"
"Tuaca rocks! Her lyrics are bold and surprising, her melodies riveting, and her voice sublime. She’ll get you up on your feet and swaying to her irresistible beat even if you’re the type that generally stays glued to your seat. She’s funny, beautiful, wild, wise, raunchy and sweet all rolled into one helluva singer/songwriter."

“Tuaca grabs ahold of her audience and sucks them in with her singing and her charm. Some people have it and most never will. Tuaca oozes it!”

"Tuaca Kelly — Tilda Swinton-y even while performing as 'the entire cast of Star Trek' — seemed comfortable portraying everything from Queen Elizabeth to an 8-year-old nerd." — BackStage West

introduction"Please welcome...unique Tuaca Kelly!" These were the words emcee Gavin MacLeod, best known for his work on television's Love Boat, used to introduce Ms. Kelly to the 1,127 attendees one night at McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert, CA. He'd watched Ms. Kelly in rehearsals and previous shows before sharing this observation. The words of wonder and encouragement MacLeod further gifted Kelly with after the show backstage, accompany her until this day.
Tuaca Kelly is an Amsterdam-based, singer, songwriter and love warrior that blends the root music of American country, folk, rock, jazz and hip-hop with her original compositional candor, wit and feel good she calls it. She has entertained all-inclusive audiences in the US and abroad, as a featured artist or opening act for the likes of Megan Mullally and Supreme Music Program, Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, The Pointer Sisters and others. Blues guitar virtuoso and five-time Grammy nominee Robben Ford was featured on Lost Time, a tune she co-wrote with Bruce Gaims of Spyder Blue. Ms. Kelly was featured on iTom Lab's OM iGod from The Crop Circle of Life. Ms. Kelly also has a background in theatrical, biographical and comedic improv. She's performed and taught at Highways Performance Space and Gallery at the 18th Street Art Center. She's shared the stage at Hollywood Improv Comedy Club with her former Mensa-laden improv troupe The Los Hombres where she held the anchor position in Scene in Rap - a musical rap game completely improvised from audience suggestions. When My Eyes Close
words & music by Tuaca Kelly I watch you struggle with lessons life give you Especially the ones from me Even heaven has secrets from all of its children One day soon enough you will see When my eyes close your eyes will open When the wind moves the clouds to cover the sun When the road bends and cypress trees are leaning When my eyes close you will see I live pretending to have all the answers Wanting to know my destiny Between anger and sorrow I took from my hunger To build the strength I need to see When your eyes close my eyes will open When the wind moves the clouds to cover the sun When the road bends and cypress trees are leaning When your eyes close I will see But now is the time when I can hold you Although we may not see eye to eye The light of my love will eternally shine through And warm you and on the night we say goodbye When your eyes close your eyes will open When the wind moves the clouds to cover the sun When the road bends and cypress trees are leaning When your eyes close When my eyes close When your eyes close I will see ©2004 Tuaca Kelly Tuaca Kelly/Blooming Idiot Music (ASCAP) |

Approach Me From Behind
words & music by Tuaca Kelly I saw you first on a Thursday at old Harold’s Club You’d strolled on in wearing jeans so snug Then walked right by me and gave me a look That went straight to my heart now I swear the earth shook Wondered to myself what adventures in store Time to seduce you onto the dance floor Approach Me From Behind. Grab me ‘round the waist. Hold me real close let me get a taste, of your soft lips on my neck Hold me from behind, place me in check. Deejay Rick spun records in 4/4 time And when Ty Herndon sang “Steam” I knew you’d be mine Cause when its time for loving well its just like the song You better take your hat off ‘cause you can’t leave it on The rest can west-coast swing I want to shadow dance Put your drink down baby here’s your chance (to) Approach Me From Behind. Grab me ‘round the waist. Hold me real close let me get a taste, of your soft lips on my neck Hold me from behind, place me in check. It’s been a while since I’ve had love with a slow hand And it would be exciting if you took command Since I’ve tamed a lot of cats in my life time I’ve been looking for a tiger that’s gonna tame mine So if you’ve got the will to be gentle and strong Trust your intuition and make your move to this song Approach Me From Behind. Grab me ‘round the waist. Hold me real close let me get a taste, of your soft lips on my neck Hold me from behind, place me in check. © 2000 Tuaca Kelly/Blooming Idiot Music (ASCAP) |
Try a Little Two-Step
words & music by Tuaca Kelly Holding up the wall like a flower Ropers cemented to the floor Watching her spin for hours ‘cause you’ve never danced before Well how you gonna get to know her If you let yourself be shy Take a chance and choose to show her that you’re not afraid to try Try a Little Two-Step start with your left foot Offer her two warm hands then glide across the oakwood And if your quick-quick lands a little slow-slow buddy Smile to apologize tell her that you’re nervous It’s the first time you’ve ever tried Tried a little two-step Been nursing that cherry cola ice cubes melting in the glass There are more girls than there are fellas so each of them is bound to ask For your hand on the dance floor so instead of sitting there all alone Sipping on your second cola throw a cowboy a bone and Try a Little Two-Step start with your right foot Offer him to warm hands then glide across the oakwood And if his quick-quick lands a little slow-slow honey Keep one thing in mind this greenhorns so damn nervous It’s the first time he’s every tried Tried a little two-step Listen to the players on the bandstand oh the magic of tempo and rhyme How it can move the feet of folks on the dance floor and captivate your social time Now weather you’ve come for music, drinking or potential romance Find a willing partner and give yourselves both a chance to Try a Little Two-Step get up on the good foot Extend those warms hands then glide across the oakwood And when that quick-quick transitions into slow-slow I know It can be a tricky thing so if you don’t fancy dancing Grab the microphone and sing Sing a Little Two-Step signal to the sound man If you’ve got butter fingers then leave it on the micstand Swing that lyric like a wooden horse on a rocker or gentle as a lullaby And salute the folks on the dance floor who took the chance and tried And tried And tried Try a little Two-Step |
Saddle on The Side
words & music by Tuaca Kelly A certain look of desire shines bright in a cowboys eyes When he sees the pony that he’s be wanting to ride First he’ll measure the gate and see the strength in her back No this rider can’t wait but I’ve got news for you jack That steed ain’t looking for a stallion She’d rather run with the mare Forget about the briddle she likes the wind in her hair Don’t even try to break her cowboys have been denied Your heart will never take hers she rides saddle on the side This may come as a surprise hey stud now why the long face All the pretty horses don’t run at the same pace I don’t doubt that you can ride you’ve been the talk of the stall Hand the reigns to another cowboy you can’t ride them all That steed ain’t looking for a stallion She’d rather run with the mare Forget about the briddle she likes the wind in her hair Don’t even try to break her cowboys have been denied Your heart will never take hers she rides saddle on the side Now you may give a damn one quick tour of the farm Serve her apples with her hands and walk her back to the barn Should you return to the corale to mount your saddle again Remember there’s a pony that won’t respond to you my friend (cause) That steed ain’t looking for a stallion She’d rather run with the mare Forget about the briddle she likes the wind in her hair Don’t even try to break her cowboys have been denied Your heart will never take hers she rides saddle on the side No your heart will never take hers go find another horse to ride |
OmiGod
music by iTom Lab, lyrics & VOX by Tuaca Kelly tim leary: to move into new space is the only way new realities can be created. tuaca kelly: atomic consciousness it's just a matter of time, a matter of choice your choice to be conscious waiting for you, welcoming you home we've been waiting for you, the time is now you're infinite intelligence, you already know what i'm going to tell you you cannot shine too brightly tim leary: well space is a very tenuous word does it mean outer space or inner space ? tuaca kelly: you're absolutely on purpose welcome home. |
